The Story of Jayden Kyrie, the Mandalorian Jedi.
Star Wars Canon
Very little of the new canon is used, some of the old canon, also known as Legends, is used, and then I also have my own canon that somewhat intermingles with the other, as well as creates my own events.
The old canon up through the creation of the NJO book series, up to a certain extent, are kept. Basically Leia is the leader of the New Republic and Luke is the leader of the new Jedi Order. There is a new council in place, and several years have passed since those events. The events of the book series happened from 25 ABY (after the battle of Yavin) through 29 ABY. So my series starts taking place at 32 ABY, but the events in the book did not happen. Luke is 51 years old. However, I am not including the events that happened in the NJO book series where it deals with his marriage and kids, but Leia and Han did have kids and they had Force abilities, but they're not really included in the events in my novel.
My Canon: Part of my canon is the Force Extraction power. In the beginning of Jedi lore, after the split of the brothers that caused the birth of the Sith and the Dark Jedi, there was a group of them called “The Old Ones”. This was a subsection of the Jedi, a group of twelve families, with special powers that tried to restore the balance to the Force that the Sith made. Once in a generation, if needed, one of the family’s Jedi Padawans would be chosen. This power they were given was so powerful that it made them the strongest Jedi in the galaxy. But with that power came great responsibility. It also made them targets to the Dark Side of the Force, and so they spent most of their time in hiding until they were needed. They had to be protected so that the Dark Jedi did not know who they were, or if they did, could not get to them. They had the ability to remove the Force from any living thing. This way they could punish the Dark Jedi or Sith without killing them. They could remove the threat. This power only activates when there is a severe imbalance in the Force, and only in the family lineage of the twelve Old Ones. Prior to the events of the Clone Wars, they were not needed, as balance had mostly been maintained, so none of the family’s powers activated. Unfortunately, after the execution of many Jedi during Order 66, many of the families were killed, only one remained. After the Empire was defeated, many Jedi started emerging, and with that came some Dark Jedi as well. Balance needed to be restored.
Another part of my canon is that Jedi aren’t just keepers of the peace, there are those that have medical powers, so they go into the medical corps. There are also those that don’t want to be fighters, so they go into other fields like architecture.
